It is an island facing Wonsan-do Island, originally called Sojami, but it has been called Hyoja Island because there have been many filial piety since ancient times.
It is an island located south of Cheonsuman Bay, where the tide around the island is fast, and Yeongmok harbor at the southern end of Anmyeondo is located 2km north, and it is an island 8.7km away from Daecheon Port and is 25 minutes away by ferry.
The area of the island is 1㎢, and there are villages such as Hajeol, Utmal, Myeongdeok, and Noksaji on the island, and the main business is fishing, where about 200 people live in 75 households.
In particular, Hyoja Island has a Mongdol gravel beach along the long 2km coastline of Mongdol, which is the size of a child's palm washed by the waves because the currents around the island are fast. Behind Mongdol Beach, dense pine forests are surrounded, so you can enjoy camping, and Myeongdeok Village is right next to it, where you can also have a private lodging.
It is a cozy place where you can enjoy the romance of a midsummer night as your family can walk on a thrilling group of stones with your toes, taking advantage of the brilliant lights lit up by the Boryeong Thermal Power Plant in front of you.
