Cheongcheon Lake (Cheongcheon Reservoir), where the heart of urban life becomes light just by running on National Road 36, Local Road 619, and Waterfront Road, is also a popular fishing spot for tourists. It has a total area of 2,772,000㎢ and was created to supply agricultural water. Attractions of this lake (reservation) include Tojeong Lee Ji-ham (1517-1578), a scholar of the mid-Joseon Dynasty who wrote "The Secret of the Land," and Hwaam Seowon, a seowon built to commemorate the learning and virtue of Lee San-bo and Lee Mong-gyu, and a "Boryeong Cold Wind Bathroom," which was created using the cold wind blowing from the abandoned mine. And there is a waterside deck where you can enjoy a walk while walking on the water along the shore.
Cheongcheon Lake (Cheongcheon Reservoir), which was completed in 1962 by building a bank in a low area of the basin between Oseosan Mountain and Seongju Mountain in Boryeong-si, is named one of the three major reservoirs in Chungnam along with Yedang Reservoir in Yesan and Tapjeong Reservoir in Nonsan. It is the third in size, but it is not missing from the list of national attractions for fishing. The place, where native fish species such as crucian carp, carp, and catfish live, is also home to visitors and egrets. Hilly areas around the reservoir are developed, so the natural scenery is beautiful.
