Introduction to the Nampogwan Gate

It is a government-affiliated building in Nampo-hyeon during the Joseon Dynasty and consists of Jinseoru, Naesammun, and Oedongheon. Jinseoru is a two-story gate tower built on a low stylobate, with three bays in front and two bays in side, and a hipped-and-gabled roof house with eight bays in the shape of a 八 on the side. The lower floor has three doors, and the second floor has a numaru and a railing on four sides. Naesammun, the door to Dongheon, is a building with seven bays in the front and one bays in the side. One in the center is a door with a large gate, while the other bays are decorated with rooms. The central compartment is a gabled roof with a human-shaped side and the left and right rooms have eight bays in the shape of a 八. Oedongheon, which used to work for Nampo-hyeon, is a grand hall with seven bays in the front and three bays in the side. There is a two-room daecheong in the center of the front and an ondol room on the left and right.
