Inside of the museum, six different halls present their unique collections. Guiding Hall provides viewer's information and has gift shop. Research Hall shows developing of coal. Discovery Hall presents samples of coal and other mineral and history of mining industry. Participating Hall has artificial coal pit that is very like a real.

Experience Hall in second floor has various fossil collections and artificial gangway. Stepping in the museum, entrance of a coal pit shortly shows up. It is rightly connected to an elevator. When it starts move, you may feel like downing to 400m underground in 1 minute, due to special effects.

Coal-fired power plants are essential facilities in our lives that produce a large amount of low-cost and high-quality electricity. In particular, the Boryeong Thermal Power Headquarters, as the first standard coal-fired power plant in Korea, has become a sample of all coal-fired power plants in Korea and is a large-scale electricity generation base that accounts for 8% of all domestic power generation facilities.

The Boryeong Thermal Power Headquarters has been a major driver of Korea's economic development since the 1970s and will continue to play a role by continuously building new power plants.

At Boryeong Energy World, you will see a mysterious process in which a small piece of coal transforms into electric energy with great power that lights up the whole world.

It is 6,927m long and exhibits photographs and models of the construction method and process of the Boryeong Undersea Tunnel, which began construction in December 2010 and was completed and opened in December 2021. With the development of civil engineering and construction technology, the living area of the island area is also expanding, and the Boryeong Undersea Tunnel connects the west coast area through Wonsan Island and Daecheon Port, becoming an important bridge for tourism on the west coast. Visitors can enjoy leisure experiences such as skybikes and zip tracks along with sightseeing at Daecheon Beach and Daecheon Port nearby.
